Making Butter

Making your own butter is super simple and easy.


Ingredients

  • All you need is cream with a high fat content. Such as whipped cream


Instructions

  • Pour cream into mixer and beat.

  • As the cream starts to thicken, the liquid will separate.

  • Remove the liquid as you go along. This is buttermilk. You can save this for baking.

  • Eventually you will be left with clumps of butter.

  • Remove the butter from the bowl and make it into a ball with your heads

  • Rinse with cold water. Keeping in mind that the more you handle the butter the more it will soften so try not to handle it too much.

  • You may add a pinch of salt as well toward the end or after its been shaped. This is optional

  • Shape butter, wrap with plastic wrap and store in fridge.
